As a registered voter and employee at _________ College, I am writing to seek your assistance in restoring $36.3 million in operating funding for The City University of New York which was cut in the City's proposed budget and to support CUNY's $160 million city matching capital fund need. CUNY needs restorations for operational support to the community colleges to fund critically needed full-time faculty positions, student services such as counseling, advisement, child care and services to students with disabilities. It is important that CUNY can continue to support individuals who are returning to school to improve their skills and reshape their careers during these challenging economic times. In addition, funding of CUNY's city matching fund capital request will allow the University to meet the community colleges critical health and safety maintenance needs and upgrades, such as roofs, facades and science teaching labs.
