As a registered voter and graduate of _______ College of The City University of New York, I am concerned that the proposed City budget does not provide adequate funding for CUNY. Not only does the University need restorations for its operational support to the community colleges to fund critically needed full-time faculty positions and student services such as counseling, advisement, child care and services to students with disabilities, but CUNY needs capital funds for critical health and safety maintenance needs, upgrades and renovations that will allow the University to bring all of its colleges to a state of good repair. This funding is necessary to be able to support the increased numbers of individuals who are enrolling in CUNY to improve their skills and reshape their careers during these difficult economic times.
